Quase todo mundo já deve ter pensado coisas como: “Graças à Inteligência Artificial (IA), perderei meu emprego”, “Existe uma IA para qualquer coisa – esse é definitivamente o fim do mundo” ou “Como humanos, nos tornaremos inúteis rapidamente devido à IA”. Embora pensar dessa forma seja totalmente compreensível, dado o crescimento constante da inteligência artificial, é correto dizer que a IA causará o fim do mundo? Ouvindo os dois lados dessa questão, é possível dizer que, dependendo do contexto, a Inteligência Artificial pode ser tanto uma solução, quanto um problema.

Como ela pode ser as duas coisas, certo? Bem, vamos apenas pensar que a solução mais rápida que os empregadores estão procurando pode ser um problema para as pessoas que acabaram de começar a trabalhar na área, ou que os estudantes do mundo todo têm uma ferramenta poderosa para ajudá-los com suas tarefas, ao mesmo tempo em que o esforço que os educadores esperam de seus alunos agora pode ser escondido por trás da funcionalidade de uma IA.

1. Os prós e os contras das IAs
Você já parou para pensar para quem os recursos de IA são bons? Tenho certeza de que você viu apenas a parte ruim de tudo isso. Bem, assim como qualquer outra ferramenta tecnológica, a Inteligência Artificial veio para tornar as tarefas humanas mais fáceis e menos repetitivas. De fato, hoje em dia há uma IA para tudo: até para redirecioná-lo para outras IAs, e ninguém pode negar o quanto isso é impressionante. As IAs generativas, como Chat GPT, Amper Music e DALL.E 2, podem gerar textos, sons e imagens, respectivamente. Não é de se admirar que todos nós estejamos considerando a época atual como a 5ª Revolução Industrial, apenas dois anos depois de passar pela quarta.
Isso ainda pode parecer aterrorizante, afinal, são muitas informações, muitas ferramentas e uma variedade de opções, mas se eu te dissesse que o que você está sentindo agora não é exclusivo da nossa geração, você acreditaria em mim? Séculos atrás, quando outras sociedades estavam enfrentando as primeiras Revoluções Industriais, elas devem ter sentido o mesmo, pois as máquinas estavam prestes a substituir o trabalho manual por processos automatizados. Mas gradualmente, elas se acostumaram e começaram a pensar de forma diferente à medida que outras revoluções foram acontecendo.
Não temos outra opção a não ser aceitar que nossa sociedade atual é totalmente baseada na tecnologia, e o primeiro passo para começar a entender isso é pesquisar mais e mais a cada dia, incansavelmente, porque as pessoas que não conhecem tecnologia serão as primeiras a sofrerem com seus impactos negativos. Sempre foi assim.
2. IAs em áreas acadêmicas e profissionais
Academicamente falando, à primeira vista, os professores serão inúteis, pois a educação não precisará mais de humanos para ser ensinada. Mas isso não é verdade: ser um professor exige mais do que apenas levar informações adiante. As considerações abaixo mostram outras partes do processo de ensino:
- Certificar-se de que os alunos entenderam e dar-lhes um feedback adequado;
- A capacidade de mudar sua maneira de explicar para torná-la compreensível para os alunos;
- Os valores pessoais que uma pessoa da área de educação pode levar adiante são únicos e extremamente valiosos;
- O fato de um professor poder se adaptar ao ensino de diferentes grupos de pessoas mostra como essa profissão é flexível;
- Não é todo mundo que aprende facilmente com a tecnologia. Há muitas maneiras pelas quais uma pessoa pode aprender algo, mas para cada uma delas isso funciona de forma diferente. Isso é o que chamamos de teoria das inteligências múltiplas.
Outro problema em potencial que poderia ser mencionado é o trabalho dos alunos ser apenas um texto pré-gerado proveniente de uma IA. E é aí que reside a importância da renovação nos métodos de avaliação dos professores com relação à compreensão geral do aluno sobre os assuntos estudados.
Profissionalmente falando, não há muito o que fazer além de aceitar que mais profissões começarão a surgir ao mesmo tempo em que muitas outras desaparecerão. Dependendo da quantidade de mão de obra humana necessária para uma ação, talvez seja impossível usar uma IA no lugar, mas a maioria das profissões manuais parece estar com os dias contados. Na verdade, hoje temos uma alta taxa de desemprego, mas simplesmente porque estamos falando de situações de mão de obra não qualificada. Com o desenvolvimento da IA, já foi constatado que as profissões que serão criadas superam a quantidade de empregos extintos.
3. O que você deve saber sobre IAs
O necessário para trabalhar com elas, isso é tudo o que você deve saber sobre. O crescimento ininterrupto da tecnologia na sociedade atual exige uma maneira de controlá-la. E esse é basicamente o tipo de profissão que as IAs criarão no futuro. Problemas jurídicos e legais, questões de propriedade intelectual, de controle e gerenciamento de dados, fontes confiáveis, privacidade e segurança serão todas áreas potenciais de desenvolvimento causadas pelo avanço da tecnologia.
4. Conclusão
Com os tópicos apresentados, é possível ter um ponto de vista melhor em relação ao que nos cerca e não pensar nisso apenas como um problema. Por exemplo, na pandemia de 2020, a tecnologia se desenvolveu exponencialmente, simplesmente porque não havia outra solução a não ser implementá-la para diminuir o impacto de tudo o que nossa sociedade perdeu.
Talvez tudo isso apenas prove que a nossa sociedade precisa mudar o mais rápido possível. A educação precisa de profissionais que integrem a tecnologia em seu trabalho para transformá-la em algo positivo, de modo a estimular seus alunos a se adaptarem mais a ela; o mercado de trabalho também precisa disso.

Almost everyone must’ve already thought things like: “Thanks to AI, I will lose my job”, “There’s an AI for anything – this is definitely the end of the world” or “As humans, we’ll become useless quickly due to AI”. Although thinking this way is totally comprehensible, given the constant growth of artificial intelligence, is it accurate to say that AI will cause the end of the world? Listening to both sides of this issue, it’s possible to say that, depending on the context, Artificial Intelligence can be a solution, but also a problem as well.
On a second thought…
How can something be the two things, right? Well, let’s just think that the quicker solution employers are looking for may be a problem for people who have just started working in the area, or that worldwide students have a powerful tool to help them with their assignments at the same time that the effort that educators expect from their students can now be hidden behind an AI’s feature.

The pros and cons of AIs
Have you ever stopped to think about whom AI’s features are good for? I’m sure that you’ve seen only the bad part of all of it. Well, just like any other technological tool, Artificial Intelligence came to make human tasks easier and less repetitive. In fact, nowadays, there’s an AI for everything: even for redirecting you to other AIs, and nobody can deny how impressive this is. Generative AIs such as Chat GPT, Amper Music, and DALL.E 2, can generate texts, sounds, and images, respectively. It’s no wonder that we’re all considering the actual epoch as the 5th Industrial Revolution, only two years after going through the fourth one.
It still might sound terrific, after all, it’s a lot of information, too many tools, and a variety of options, but if I told you that what you are feeling now is not exclusive to our generation, would you believe me? Centuries ago, when other societies were facing the first Industrial Revolutions, they must have felt the same, since machines were about to replace their manual work for automatized processes. But gradually, they got used to it and started thinking differently as other revolutions kept happening. We have no option but to accept that our society today is completely technological-based, and the first step to start to understand this is to research more and more every day, unstoppably, because people who don’t know technology will be the first ones to suffer from its negative impacts. It has always been like that.
AIs in academic and professional areas
Academically talking, at first glance, teachers will be useless, since education will no longer need humans to be taught. But that’s not true: being a teacher requires more than just carrying information ahead. The statements below show other parts of the process of teaching:
- To make sure that the students understood and give them suitable feedback;
- The capability of changing their way of explaining in order to make it understandable for the students;
- The personal values that a person in the education area can carry ahead are unique and extremely valuable;
- The fact that a teacher can adapt to teaching different groups of people shows how flexible this profession is;
- The fact that it’s not everybody that learns easily with technology. There are many ways a person can learn something, but for each, it works differently. That’s what we call the theory of multiple intelligences.
Another potential problem that could be mentioned is the students’ work being just a pre-generated text coming from an AI. And that’s where lies the importance of renewal in teachers’ evaluation methods regarding the student’s overall comprehension of the studied subjects.
Professionally talking, there’s not much to do besides accepting that more professions will start to emerge at the same time that lots of other ones will disappear. Depending on how much of human labor is needed for an action, it might be impossible to use an AI instead, but most of manual professions seem to be with their days over. In fact, today we have a high rate of unemployment, but simply because we are talking about unqualified labor situations. With AI development, it has already been stated that the professions that will be created surpass the amount of extinguished jobs.
How much you should know about AIs
The necessary to work with it, that’s all you should know about them. The unstoppable growth of technology in today’s society requires a manner of controlling it. And that’s pretty much the type of profession AIs will create in the future. Legal issues, intellectual-property questions, data control and management, trustable sources, privacy and security, will all be potential areas of development caused by the technology’s advance.
Conclusion
By the presented topics, it’s possible to have a better point of view regarding what surrounds us and not to think about it only as a problem. For example, in the 2020 pandemic, technology has developed exponentially, simply because there was no other solution rather than to implement it to decrease the impact of everything our society lost. Maybe all of it just proves that our society needs to change as soon as possible. Education needs professionals who can integrate technology into their work to transform it positively in a way to stimulate their students to become more adapted to it; the job market needs it as well.
