One Piece, um mangá e anime que tem recentemente atraído atenção da mídia em geral, narra a jornada do pirata com habilidades elásticas, Monkey D. Luffy, em busca de se tornar o próximo Rei dos Piratas e encontrar o lendário tesouro que dá nome à obra. Desde o seu início em 1997, a narrativa tem cativado fãs ao redor do mundo.
Agora, em 2023, um passo audacioso está sendo dado com a estreia de um live action produzido pela Netflix. Esta adaptação, que envolve atores reais e cenários realistas, representa uma mudança significativa, especialmente para aqueles que estão mais acostumados com animações e jogos. Apesar disso, a divulgação da série e o carisma do elenco têm contribuído para a aceitação entusiástica dos fãs que já estão familiarizados com a história.
Porém, surge a pergunta: será que a adaptação live action de One Piece pela Netflix é uma maneira eficaz de explorar a obra? Inglês no live action do One Piece
Uma das principais diferenças que podem causar certa estranheza é o idioma. Visto que a Netflix é uma empresa dos Estados Unidos, o idioma predominante é o inglês, que também é utilizado no live action. Consequentemente, os diálogos marcantes, os nomes dos golpes e as cenas icônicas da animação terão uma abordagem diferente devido à língua. Além disso, um elemento central da trama – as “akuma no mi” (Devil Fruits) – é afetado por essa adaptação linguística.

One of the main differences that may cause some unfamiliarity is the language. Given that Netflix is a US-based company, the predominant language is English, which is also used in the live-action adaptation. Consequently, the memorable dialogues, moves names, and iconic scenes from the animation will take on a different approach due to the language. Additionally, a central element of the plot – the “akuma no mi” (Devil Fruits) – is affected by this linguistic adaptation.
These fruits grant supernatural powers to those who consume them, and their names are onomatopoeia of the power or characteristic granted, repeated twice, followed by the word “fruit.” The difficulty arises in translating the sound elements from Japanese to English.
